Terms of Service
Effective Date: April 2, 2026 · Last Updated: April 2, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Case Intelligence Assistant website and platform (“the Service”). By accessing the website or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.
Use of the Platform (the deployed investigative analysis software) is additionally governed by the terms of the applicable license agreement or contract executed between Case Intelligence Assistant and the licensing organization.
2. Description of Service
Case Intelligence Assistant is an AI-powered investigative file analysis platform designed for law enforcement, investigative agencies, and legal professionals. The Platform provides document ingestion, natural language querying, inconsistency detection, timeline reconstruction, entity extraction, and audit trail capabilities — all operating in a fully air-gapped, local-only deployment model.
3. Licensing & Deployment
3.1 License Grant
Subject to a separate written license agreement, we grant the licensing organization a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to deploy and use the Platform on their own hardware, for their internal investigative purposes. The specific license scope, duration, user count, and deployment terms are defined in the executed license agreement.
3.2 Deployment Responsibility
The licensing organization is responsible for providing and maintaining the hardware and infrastructure on which the Platform runs. Case Intelligence Assistant provides installation support, documentation, and training as specified in the license agreement.
3.3 Restrictions
- You may not sublicense, resell, or distribute the Platform to third parties.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform except as permitted by applicable law.
- You may not remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Platform.
- You may not use the Platform for purposes other than lawful investigative and analytical activities within the scope of your organization's mandate.
4. Data Ownership & Responsibility
Your data is yours. Case Intelligence Assistant does not access, collect, store, or process any case data, documents, or investigative materials uploaded to or generated by the Platform once deployed on your infrastructure.
- The licensing organization retains full ownership and control of all data ingested into, processed by, and generated from the Platform.
- The licensing organization is solely responsible for ensuring that its use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies — including evidence handling procedures, chain of custody requirements, and disclosure obligations.
- The licensing organization is responsible for managing access controls, user permissions, and data security within the deployment environment.
5. AI-Generated Outputs
The Platform uses artificial intelligence models to generate analytical outputs including answers to natural language queries, inconsistency reports, timeline reconstructions, and entity extractions. Regarding these outputs:
- AI-generated outputs are analytical aids, not definitive conclusions. They are intended to assist — not replace — trained investigators and analysts.
- All outputs include source citations to enable human verification. Users should verify AI-generated findings against original source documents before relying on them.
- Case Intelligence Assistant does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legal admissibility of AI-generated outputs.
- The complete audit trail provided by the Platform supports transparency and reproducibility, but does not constitute legal advice or evidentiary certification.
6. Support & Maintenance
Support and maintenance terms — including software updates, bug fixes, model upgrades, and technical assistance — are defined in the executed license agreement. Standard support does not include on-site deployment, custom model training, or hardware procurement unless separately contracted.
7. Fees & Payment
Platform licensing fees, payment schedules, and renewal terms are specified in the executed license agreement. Website access and demo requests are provided at no cost.
8. Intellectual Property
Case Intelligence Assistant and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the Platform, including all software, models, algorithms, documentation, trademarks, and trade secrets. The licensing organization receives only the usage rights explicitly granted in the license agreement. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Case Intelligence Assistant shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Platform.
- Case Intelligence Assistant is not liable for investigative decisions, legal outcomes, or operational actions taken based on Platform outputs.
- Total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by the licensing organization in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Warranty Disclaimer
The Platform and website are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated outputs will be accurate or complete.
11. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. We may terminate or suspend access to the website at any time. License agreement termination is governed by the terms of the executed license agreement. Upon termination, the licensing organization must cease use of the Platform and destroy or return all copies as specified in the license agreement.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Saskatchewan.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website or Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
